Form factor choice
Athena's silicon independence allows us to offer a range of delivery options including; wafers, modules, contact, dual interface, contactless, USB, miscoSD and other secure element formats to match project requirements.
Logical authentication
Athena's IDProtect Client middleware, card and on-card PKI application provides a complete authentication package. Our PKI solution stack provides transparent support for PKCS#11, Microsoft CAPI/CNG and optionally Microsoft ILM/FIM.
Athena middleware is available for Windows, LINUX and Mac OSX systems making it ideal for mixed architecture deployments.
Biometric match-on-card
Athena partners with leading biometric companies to provide the state-of-the-art match-on-card algorithms embedded in our solutions.
Once activated, Athena IDProtect Client has built-in support for Windows biometric logon enabling true multi-factor authentication.
Beyond PKI and Logon
With the option of using any of our multi-application Java Card platforms comes the possibility of further extending the functionality offered by the solution. Athena offers a range of optimized identity applications which can be added, including ICAO, IAS ECC, IDL and PIV. Alternatively compatible 3rd party Java Card applications can be loaded pre or post issuance.
Microsoft Support - Windows Logon
Microsoft’s Cryptography API (CAPI) and Cryptography API: Next Generation (CNG) support can be deployed as either a certified Athena Crypto Service Provider (CSP) or Minidriver and is available for 32 and 63bit architectures.
IDProtect Client seamlessly integrates with Microsoft Windows applications including:
- Outlook
- Internet Explorer
- Windows 7, Vista, XP, Server 2003/2008/2008 R2 Smart Card Logon
- VPN
- Remote Terminal Services.
Physical authentication - hybrid solutions
Athena can provide composite devices incorporating companion RFID technologies. This allows a single device to host multiple technologies,such as MiFare, EM, HID Prox, HiTag, Legic, etc. to support most authentication options.
