PIV / FIPS 201

In response to US Presidential Directive HSPD 12 Athena has designed, built and certified a NIST FIPS 140-2 compliant smart card platform and FIPS 201 (PIV) application for use as a US Federal Employee and Contractor identification card.


PIV (FIPS 201) Application


Athena’s PIV solution is built and certified to Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201 SP 800-73-2 and SP80-73-3 implementing PIV optional data objects; Card Holder Facial Image, Card Holder Printed Information, X.509 Certificate for Digital Signature, X.509 Certificate for PIV Key Management, X.509 Certificate for Card Authentication, Discovery Object and optional SP 800-73-2 objects Discovery Object and Verification with Global PIN.

Athena PIV solutions can be delivered with the Athena Windows Logon / PKI middleware, IDProtect Client,  to provide out of the box integration with existing systems. IDProtect Client is available for Windows, LINUX and Mac.
